Biography

Christopher A. Ferro is the holder of Martindale-Hubbell’s prestigious “AV” rating, designating outstanding lawyers in their field. He has also been designated a Pennsylvania “Super Lawyer” by Pennsylvania Super Lawyer Magazine since 2006. He is just one of a handful of lawyers in Central Pennsylvania to obtain both of the aforementioned merit based designations.

Chris has handled a multitude of criminal (murder, narcotics, DUI, robbery, rape etc.) and civil (auto accident, land development, commercial, and estate litigation) trials in both state and federal court.

Prior to private practice, Chris worked as a Special and Senior Deputy Prosecutor for the York County District Attorney’s Office. While there, he obtained multiple murder and rape convictions. As a defense attorney, he has obtained not guilty verdicts in major, high profile jury trials involving murder, alleged rapes, drug charges, DUI, fraud and other white collar criminal allegations.

Before The Law Office of Christopher A. Ferro, LLC, Chris was a partner with The Law Firm of Griest, Himes, Herrold, Schaumann, Ferro, LLP.

Chris has argued before the Pennsylvania Superior and Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. He has also obtained numerous verdicts and settlements in all types of litigation before various courts throughout the state. He has both prosecuted and defended substantial commercial claims on behalf of both small and large local and regional businesses.

Chris is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Judicial Evaluation Committee. He has also been appointed as a Juvenile Master for the York County Court of Common Pleas and Special Counsel to the County of York for litigation before both local and federal courts. He is a member of the Pennsylvania and York Bar Associations. He is also a member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Pennsylvania Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He earned his B.A. from King’s College and his J.D. from the Duquesne University School of Law where he was a member of its award winning Moot Court Team.

Chris is Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors for Leg-Up Farm, Inc., a non-profit corporation which assists special needs children.

Chris and his wife, Angela, live in Springettsbury Township with their two children, Dominic and Michael.
